Edward Laux cofounder
Programming magician. He graduated from Columbia University in 2007 with a degree in Neuroscience.
A shy fat kid A giant kind-hearted man, Eddie grew up obese. At age 16, through relentless training and careful research, he lost nearly 70lbs. After his dramatic weight loss, still at the age of 16 - Eddie entered college. Later he would study neuroscience with a focus on the neural regulation of appetite and weight. While at Columbia, Eddie also walked onto the crew team, only to fracture his back and gain a new and valuable (albeit painful) perspective on physical therapy. After rehabilitation, Eddie focused on strength training - gaining over 40lbs of muscle. Eddie has always been eager to help others through his experience, and in addition to training others, he also taught Nutrition and Physical activity workshops in NYC public schools.
In his free time Eddie enjoys lifting heavy things (in carefully structured and planned training blocks), swimming with sharks (true), running with bulls (true) and wrestling bears (false). He also loves competition and, much like Charlie Sheen, winning.
Sergio Prado cofounder
Developer and designer for BodBot. He graduated from Harvard University in 2009, and after graduation worked as an engineer on Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.
Throughout his childhood, Sergio was massively underweight: 120 lbs at 6'0" when he was 17. Through research and strength training, he put on almost 70lbs of muscle over the years after high school. Coupled with his efforts to gain weight, he has also pursued a rigorous athletic routine; he joined the Harvard shotokan karate team, and progressed to brown belt by his senior year.
Sergio loves San Francisco like he loves high fives, but grew up in the middle of the forest in rural Missouri and will always be a country boy at heart. That includes a non-ironic love of country music. Okay, maybe there's a little irony.
